Death by cancer declines for second year

Cancer deaths declined in both 2003 and 2004 (the latest data available).

The American Cancer Society attributes the decline to early detection and improved treatment.

The decline in 2003 was 369. In 2004, it was 3,014… a pretty strong increase (717%).

The biggest decrease was in colon cancer.
There were also big decreases in breast and prostate cancer deaths.
